Client: London Borough of Lambeth
Project Value: £7.6 Million
Winner of the Best Design and the Judges Grand Prix prize. Michael Tippett School is the first Special Education Needs (SEN) school to be built under the BSF Programme in London.
Part of the £2.2 billion government BSF Schools initiative and seen as the flagship project for the Lambeth BSF programme it has recently been endorsed by Tim Byles, Partnership for Schools Chief Executive, who described it as his ‘favourite building of 2008’.
The building incorporated a number of sustainable elements including a green Sedum roof which captures rainfall and moderates the temperature inside the building. A combined heat and power unit (CHP) heat the hydrotherapy pool.
PinnacleESP have designed the mechanical and electrical services for the school to be both flexible to change and also to provide an excellent learning environment for the wide range of abilities and needs of the students.
This project was successfully completed in January 2008 and has achieved acclaim from the press and industry for its innovation in design and its user friendly principles.
PinnacleESP was awarded a Commendation by the Civic Trust for our work on this project.
