Client: Westbrook Whitfield
Project Value: £6.2 Million
PinnacleESP were appointed by Westbrook Whitfield residential developers, to provide the MEPH detailed design for a mixed use development in Kennington.
The proposed development was granted planning permission in 2021 for the demolition of the existing dilapidated buildings and a residential-led mixed-use development encompassing 22 residential units with amenity space, and a mix of commercial accommodation at ground and part first floor level. These include six retail units (A1 and A3 use classes) totalling approximately 593m2 and a children’s nursery extending to approximately 246m2.
The MEPH design scheme included a new UKPN substation to provide sufficient capacity to support the proposed low carbon Air Source Heat Pump technology.
With green areas a premium in the London, PinnacleESP designed a sub terrain plant room to house the cold water storage tank, sprinkler tank and associated pump sets to serve the development. Saving value real estate and protecting the surrounding area.
In addition to the low carbon heat generation plant, rooftop photovoltaic arrays were designed into the scheme to reduce the impact on the electrical grid through on site power generation.
PinnacleESP also provided BREEAM assessment services for the scheme to assist the client with securing the necessary credits to achieve a rating of ‘Very Good’.
