Client: Higgins Construction
Project Value: Two phases circa £35 million
Project Type: New build apartments over three blocks
Crayford Town Hall
The site at Crayford Town Hall was developed in two phases. Phase one included three blocks of apartments with a total of 144 units and a separate library and community building.
The second phase included a further block of 65 units, the development of the existing Town Hall and a new doctor’s surgery. New site-wide incoming services have been designed to provide a bulk gas supply, bulk water supply and a new electrical substation. The site will be serviced via an energy centre within the heart of the development, housing a CHP plant. This has been combined with a photovoltaic system to support the landlord's electrical infrastructure. This facility will also export surplus energy back to the Grid. The systems are designed to utilise the majority of power generated at source on site. The CHP unit is backed up by new traditional gas fired condensing boilers.
