Client: French Institute

Project Value: £1 million

Project Type: Refurbishment of existing library

Childrens Library

The French Institute, located in south Kensington, London is the focal point for the French Nationals living and working in the UK. There are numerous facilities including a school and a children’s library.

The existing children’s library was considered too small and did not meet the needs of the users. The library was shut over the summer holidays and refurbished into a modern facility providing a multi-functional, multi-media facility.

The basement of the building was a book storage room, no longer in use so the children’s library was expanded to double the original size. A new platform lift and toilet facilities were added and new air conditioning and lighting installed. PinnacleESP worked closely with the main contractor and architects to achieve the clients requirements within a tight programme and to the fixed budget.
