PinnacleESP were appointed by Thomas Sinden to carry out the Stage 4, 5 & 6 MEPH services technical design for 67-69 Croydon Road, Caterham.
The project comprises the demolition of existing brownfield buildings and structures and the construction of a mixed use building to provide retail space on the ground floor with 48 apartments over, in addition to a 5 level sub terrain basement parking area to serve both the residents and public retail space.
The MEPH services design provided by Pinnacle ESP included a centralised energy centre, basement ventilation system, Heat Interface Units to all dwellings, Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery to all dwellings, rooftop photovoltaic arrays and life safety systems.
The scheme incorporated a Metsec Steel Framing Solution (SFS), which provided challenges across the design process to ensure coordination of distribution services without comprising the building structure.
PinnacleESP were also appointed to provide Energy Services throughout the design process, providing TM59 overheating analysis in accordance with new Building Regulations which came into effect through the design process. In addition to ongoing support to the design team through thermal dynamic analysis of the building fabric through SAP calculations and IES modelling.
