PinnacleESP were appointed by Hart Ltd to provide MEPH design services for Stage 2-6 on a new build residential development in Little Dunmow, Essex.

 

The development comprises the construction of 9 high end residential dwellings in a private gated community.

 

PinnacleESP delivered a low carbon MEPH design, exceeding the requirements set out in the latest Building Regulations Part L 2021, whilst also conforming to local energy and sustainability policies.

 

Each property was designed with its own Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP), to serve the under floor heating and domestic hot water requirements. High air quality levels are achieved through System 4 Mechanical Ventilation whilst also reducing energy consumption through heat recovery.

 

Part O overheating analysis was undertaken alongside thermal dynamic analysis of the buildings performance to design in passive measures to reduce infiltration and heat loss. Assisting the architects in a ‘fabric first’ approach from concept design stage.

 

All the above resulting in a low EPC rating and minimal carbon emissions.
